Hans Bøgetoft Christensen
Each project of Hans brings out another aspect of his talented eye and his great talent for details. He is celebrated for his mixing of vivid colours with layered patterns to create inspired, inventive, and unexpected spaces creating his bold interiors.
Hans was born and grew up in Denmark with a father who was a serious collector of Danish design classics spending many hours at auctions houses looking for furniture and accessories. He studied men’s fashion and tailoring in London and in the early 90’s he moved to Thailand working as a design consultant and later relocated to Malaysia working as a buyer for a small chain of homeware stores. In 1997 he settled down in Chiang Mai establishing his first design company and Chiang Mai has since been his base.
Hans does not believe in the ordinary and standard solutions but puts great effort in adding soul and character to each of his projects without becoming pretentious. It is not about the amount you spend but how you put things together. In his designs he draws from his Scandinavian background mixing it with the rich and vibrant colours and textures of the East and local traditions for craftmanship. He wants to create spaces full of love, passion, comfort, and dreams.
